Extrusion Process
Unlike ordinary plastic products, straws require higher dimensional accuracy and plasticization uniformity, especially for special products such as biodegradable PLA straws, which also require matching screw structures and temperature control processes.
- The raw materials need to be dried, especially PLA material, which has strong moisture absorption and must be dried and moisture-proof through a vacuum feeding device to avoid molding defects such as bubbles and softening of the straw extruded after the raw materials absorb water
- The screw maintains a molten state inside, utilizing multiple temperature zones with a temperature difference of less than 1 ℃. This is the core prerequisite for ensuring uniform wall thickness of the straw
- The mouth mold has a circular cross-section, corresponding to the cross-sectional size of the finished straw. Different sizes of mouth molds are used to produce straws of corresponding sizes
- By compressing air or vacuum sizing, the outer wall of the tube blank is cooled and shaped to ensure that the outer diameter of the straw meets the requirements
- The cooling water tank is further cooled and solidified, and then pulled forward at a constant speed by a traction device to ensure a continuous and stable extrusion process, and finally cut according to the specified length
- There are many types of straw packaging machines, including single packaging, boxed packaging, bagged packaging, and so on
