With the lightweighting of automobiles and the manufacturing of high-end equipment, traditional short fiber reinforcement is no longer sufficient to meet the demand. Long fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites (LFT Twin Screw Extrusion Line) are gradually becoming the mainstream alternative to metals due to their excellent specific strength, high impact resistance, and low creep characteristics.

Raw Material Preparation

  • Common ones include PP, PA, PBT, etc. (choose high melt index, i.e., high fluidity)
  • Fiber: Glass fiber, carbon fiber
  • Additives, colorants, UV masterbatch, antioxidants, etc

LFT Extrusion Process

  • Twin screw extruder: adding plastic raw materials and additives (the head pressure needs to be increased)
  • Rotating fiber support to prevent entanglement
  • Baking traction machine: heats the fibers, reduces burrs, and pulls the fibers
  • Mold: W-wave mold. Maintain the molten state and turn on the melt pump to continue increasing the internal pressure of the mold. Let the fiberglass be stably wrapped in the molten raw material.
  • Cooling and shaping: a specially designed sink with a circulation system, providing a certain cooling effect
  • Secondary traction: Double pressure roller type, maintaining a certain speed, transported to the backend equipment
  • Blow dryer: removes moisture
  • Granulator: Special granulator, customized alloy steel cutting tools

  • The resin melting section and fiber impregnation section are independently temperature-controlled, with an accuracy of up to ± 1 ℃.

  • The high rigidity granulator of the knife has a particle length error controlled within ± 1 millimeter (supporting flexible adjustment of 3-30mm).
