Color Masterbatch Type:

  1. Classified by carrier resin

The carrier of color masterbatch must be compatible with the plastic substrate that needs to be colored, commonly including PE color masterbatch, PP color masterbatch, ABS color masterbatch, PVC color masterbatch, PET color masterbatch, PA color masterbatch, etc.

  1. Classify by pigment type and color

Pigment types: divided into organic pigments (bright colors, strong coloring power) and inorganic pigments (good heat and light resistance).

Common colors: including black masterbatch, white masterbatch, and various colored masterbatch (red, yellow, blue, green, etc.), and can also be accurately customized according to Pantone color cards.

Selection Of Color Masterbatch Equipment

According to different classifications, the equipment selection for color masterbatch varies.

The common production methods are achieved through twin-screw extruders, but they are all different. You can choose the appropriate model according to your own needs.

Classified by carrier resin:

  • PVC: Most choose conical twin-screw
  • PET: Choose parallel and coaxial twin-screw, L/D 40~48:1
  • PP PE: Choose parallel and same direction twin-screw, L/D 48~52:1

Classify by color:

  • Black Mother: Common equipment includes: kneader + conical twin screw force feeder + bucket conveyor + twin-screw extruder + water tank (or water ring or underwater cutting)
  • White mother: kneader + conical twin screw force feeder + bucket conveyor + twin-screw extruder + water tank (or water ring or underwater cutting)
  • Yellow/green, red, color masterbatch: High-speed mixer + steel frame platform + twin-screw extruder + water tank (or water ring or underwater cutting)

Different colorants require different extruders, and extruders have different differences that need to be adjusted according to your type, formula, and budget.
